CANNABINOIDS
Cannabinoids are a diverse class of chemical compounds that interact with specific receptors in your body’s endocannabinoid system. They fall into three main categories: internally produced (endocannabinoids), plant-based (phytocannabinoids), and lab-made (synthetic cannabinoids). Because the body’s natural molecules are structurally similar to compounds in the cannabis plant, exogenous cannabinoids (like THC and CBD) can interact directly with the ECS. Most people find the most benefit when cannabinoids are used together and kept as close to their natural form as possible – this is called the “Entourage Effect”. Below are the cannabinoids available in our store:

CBD: The Calmer
CBD is one of the most prevalent cannabinoids with non-intoxicating effects. CBD shows potential as an anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory, and anti-epileptic agent. CBD regulates the ECS and can inhibit overwhelming effects of THC. Research Article.

CBG: The Mother Cannabinoid
CBG is the first cannabinoid produced by the plant. When used in combination with other cannabinoids like CBD, many users report finding better results for pain and relaxation CBG is a great mood regulator and works well for soft tissues. Research Article.

CBN: The Regulator
CBN is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that can regulate sleep cycles. Research suggests CBN can be a good anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anticonvulsant, both in animals and humans. There is indication that it has appetite-stimulating properties. Research Article.

DELTA-8 THC: The New Kid
Delta-8 gives similar effects to its psychoactive cousin THC, but without the “high”. It has appetite-stimulating, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties found in THC, but in a much milder way. Delta-8 offers a physical sedation without feeling too intoxicated. Research Article.

THC: The Star of the Show
Delta-9 THC (usually referred to as just “THC”) interacts with receptors in the brain that produce the “high” experienced by dopamine release. The higher the THC concentration, the higher the psychoactive effects, intoxication, and sense of euphoria. Research suggests that THC can relieve chronic pain, and has promise as an effective aid in treating nausea, loss of appetite, depression, insomnia, and anxiety, but more research is needed to confirm these findings. TERPENES
Terpenes are natural chemical compounds found in plants like citrus fruits, lavender, and cannabis that create unique scents, tastes, and colors. Terpenes are what make certain cannabis plants smell or taste different from others. They may work with the plant’s cannabinoids and other compounds to produce medicinal effects. Terpenes team up with cannabinoids to influence how a specific strain feels. Two strains with the exact same THC percentage can feel completely different based on their terpene makeup. Below are some of the more commonly found terpenes in each strain.
Limonene
Bright citrus scent; linked to uplifting and elevated moods.
Myrcene
Earthy and musky scent; linked to deep relaxation and heavy body effects.
Caryophyllene
Spicy and peppery scent; unique for directly interacting with cannabinoid receptors to help ease stress and discomfort.
Pinene
Fresh pine needle scent; linked to alertness and mental clarity
Linalool
Soft floral lavender scent; linked to calming and soothing properties
ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex cell-signaling network in the body that regulates functions like mood, sleep, appetite, and pain to maintain internal balance. It comprises three core components: endocannabinoids (natural molecules like anandamide), cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) found throughout the nervous and immune systems, and enzymes that break them down. The primary goal of the ECS is to maintain homeostasis—keeping your body’s internal environment stable despite external fluctuations. It helps fine-tune a wide variety of physiological processes such as pain sensation, temperature, stress responses, appetite and digestion, and sleep cycles.

HEMP VS. “MARIJUANA“
“Hemp” refers to cannabis plants with negligible levels of THC (often used for industrial fibers and CBD products), while “marijuana” refers to plants cultivated for higher levels of THC. This is a legal distinction and not a scientific classification, as it has been legal to grow hemp and not “marijuana” for a long time. Hemp has long been used for fibre, seeds and their oils, leaves for use as vegetables, and juice. At our location, we refer to the plant as “cannabis” and not marijuana.
INGESTION METHODS
The effects of cannabis are influenced not only by the amount and type of cannabinoids consumed, but also by how they enter the body. Different methods of ingestion affect how quickly cannabinoids are absorbed, how they are processed, and how long they remain active. As a result, the onset, intensity, duration, and overall effectiveness of cannabis can vary considerably depending on the route of administration.
Inhalation (smoking or vaping): Effects usually begin within 1–10 minutes, peak after about 30 minutes, and last 2–4 hours. This method provides rapid relief and makes it easier to adjust the dose gradually, but inhaling smoke can irritate the lungs.
Edibles (foods and beverages): Effects typically start 30 minutes to 2 hours after consumption, peak around 2–4 hours, and may last 6–8 hours or longer. Because THC is processed by the liver into a more potent metabolite (11-hydroxy-THC), the effects can feel stronger and last longer than inhaled cannabis. The delayed onset increases the risk of taking more before the first dose has fully taken effect.
Sublingual products (oils, tinctures): When held under the tongue, effects often begin within 15–45 minutes and last 4–6 hours. This route allows some cannabinoids to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream, producing a faster onset than edibles while avoiding much of the liver’s first-pass metabolism.
Topicals (creams, balms, lotions): These are applied to the skin and are generally used for localized relief. Most do not produce intoxicating effects because THC does not typically enter the bloodstream in significant amounts through intact skin.

TINCTURE DOSING GUIDE

Pet Dosing: Standard dosing is 1mg/10lbs of body weight, or 2mg
for severe conditions. Take consecutively, two times a
day either mixed with food or orally. We recommend
using the Reg CBD tincture for larger dogs. Speak with your vet before adding any supplements to your pet’s intake. Our team can help you get accurate dosing out of your tincture.
VAPE TIP TROUBLESHOOTING
TROUBLESHOOTING A STUCK VAPE:
1.) Inspect the battery contact; it may be clogged or
coated. Wipe the contact portion with a Q-tip soaked in
rubbing alcohol, let the terminal dry, reconnect your
cartridge to the battery and try it again.
2.) Try warming your cartridge with a hair dryer (lowest heat
setting) or by rubbing it between your hands to warm up the
oil and change its viscosity. You can also poke a toothpick
or safety pin gently in the hole to help de-clog it.
- Store vape tips with the mouthpiece up to prevent
leaking. - Do NOT overtighten your cartridge.
- Allow some time to cool down in between sessions.
CBD INTERACTIONS
Cannabidiol (CBD) interacts with the body by being broken down by and temporarily blocking the cytochrome P450 (CYP450) group of liver enzymes. This enzyme system is responsible for processing more than 60% of all common prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Taking CBD with other medications that have similar side effects may increase the risk of unwanted symptoms or toxicity. Taking CBD with stimulants (such as Adderall) may lead to decreased appetite, while taking it with the diabetes drug metformin or certain heartburn drugs (such as Prilosec) may increase the risk of diarrhea. Always start low and go slow when dosing, and speak to your doctor before starting any new supplements.
Potentially serious drug interactions with CBD include:
- Warfarin (Blood thinner)
- Amiodarone (Heart Rhythm Medication)
- Levothyroxine (Thyroid)
- Several Seizure medications ( including clobazam, lamotrigine, and valproate)
- SSRI’s and medications that specify “do not take with grapefruit”
